Details of the Toolbox programme for the current term are here.
The concept of Toolbox is that we need different tools for different tasks and it’s really helpful to have a number of options so we can choose the right tool at the right time! We encourage everyone at GBC to consider whereabouts they are in their journey of faith and to choose the right tool to help in their discipleship and spiritual growth. Some people are exploring Christianity. Some are new to faith. Others have been Christians for a very long time! We know that people vary too in their personalities, learning styles and interests so we are keen to offer as wide a variety as possible in the types of groups and courses we run.
We have a number of small groups meeting regularly and many people continue to find meeting in this way a very helpful part of their discipleship journey.
Examples of other groups, courses and studies from recent Toolbox programmes have included:
Bible Studies – a regular afternoon group and an evening group – often following up from the Sunday sermon but sometimes looking at different topics. And some one-off short series of studies – eg a look at the book of Job.
Book Clubs – we choose a book for the term, read a chapter each week and then meet up once a week to discuss the chapter or join a WhatsApp group to do the same!
- Alpha and Hope Explored for those interested in finding out more about Christianity
- Freedom in Christ – for Christians wanting to understand better how to walk in the freedom Christ has won for them.
- Marriage Course
- Retirement Course
- Walk Thru the Bible
Discussion Groups – meeting to discuss a podcast everyone has listened to before the session, or to watch a video together and then discuss and learn together.
Retreats – a chance to come aside for a while, rest, meet with God and be refreshed.
Spiritual Practices – a short course, following on from a Sunday sermon series, providing space to put some spiritual practices into action (meditation, prayer, Bible study and worship)
Worship – our Deeper evenings offer a chance for everyone to seek God and worship together.
