Rehoboth means
Isaac and his servants dug a well and called it “Rehoboth”, meaning room or enlargement. Isaac said,”For now the Lord has made room for us and we shall be fruitful in the land”. (Genesis 26;22)
The Rehoboth Children’s Home Trust is a christian charity that works to house disadvantaged children who for whatever reason are no longer able to live with their own families. The Trust has a large Residential centre which at present is home to 53 children. The home itself is located in the village of Santa Maria on the northern island of Luzon in the Philippines. The Charity’s founder and board of trustees are based in the UK with the exception of Kathryn Thompson, a trustee who is permanently based in the Philippines supporting the Home’s Executive Director and ensure the smooth running of the Home. God has been faithful in consistently providing both the funds and spiritual support to maintain the continual growth and success of this project from the outset.
In addition to the home we also run the Rehoboth Educational Assistance Programme (REAP) which works to financially and spiritually support students in the community to get an education. On this programme the student’s tuition fees and uniform are provided along with other assistance such as books and transportation where required.
Urgent Prayer Request
One of our college students who has typhoid fever is now beginning to get better, (thank you for praying) but please to pray as one of our younger residents has also been tested positive for typhoid. Please pray that he and the other residents and staff will be extra vigilant with health and hygiene and that it won’t spread to other children. (August 2010)
